Grupo Morón, a leader in the manufacturing of technical composite fabrics, is currently undergoing an exceptional transformation of its internal management systems.
This strategic change responds to the need to address the specific challenges posed by its extensive product catalog and the inherent complexities of manufacturing composite fabrics, which require the management of an almost infinite number of material combinations. The ultimate objective is to significantly improve the efficiency of all internal processes, eliminating errors and uncertainties and, consequently, enhancing the company’s competitiveness in the market.
To carry out this ambitious project, Grupo Morón has collaborated with the German company SAP, one of the world's leading providers of enterprise management software, renowned for its robustness and supported by one of the most comprehensive partner networks worldwide.
The challenge consisted of integrating an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, a Supply Chain Management (SCM) system, and a Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system so that they could operate synergistically in the comprehensive management of the company's processes. The system must also generate optimized production orders with Available-to-Promise (ATP) query capabilities, enabling delivery times to be determined quickly and reliably.
To achieve this, the company chose SAP Business One as the foundation and integrated it with a custom-developed solution called SAP FabricOne, specifically tailored to the unique requirements of Grupo Morón.
SAP Business One provides solutions that improve efficiency and productivity, including accounting and finance, purchasing and procurement, inventory and logistics, sales and marketing, human resources, and business intelligence.
SAP FabricOne, on the other hand, is a next-generation supply chain management solution that helps connect, automate, and optimize manufacturing operations. The cloud-based solution uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to provide the company with complete visibility across its supply chain and enable data-driven decision-making.
This custom development, the result of months of extensive analysis and programming, has enabled Grupo Morón to achieve unprecedented operational efficiency. SAP FabricOne has improved purchasing management through a system that optimizes service times and reduces inventory inefficiencies. Full traceability of purchase orders has enhanced logistics and quality management, while automation of the Order-to-Cash process has streamlined order intake and management.
In the production area, SAP FabricOne has provided detailed control at every stage of the process, enabling complete traceability from raw materials to finished composites. Production planning automatically suggests manufacturing orders according to generated requirements. In addition, the new cost and controlling module has unified the calculation of material and product costs, simplifying the process of obtaining sales prices and accelerating commercial management.
Through all these improvements, Grupo Morón aims to achieve significant enhancements in supply chain visibility, cost reduction, customer service quality, and sustainability. Furthermore, the system ensures the flexibility and scalability required to address future challenges.
