Grupo Morón Installs 1,713 Solar Panels
As part of its strong commitment to renewable energy, Grupo Morón now self-generates 71% of its electricity consumption

Environmental Impact Reduction Plan
Environmental sustainability is a top priority for Grupo Morón. Under this commitment, the company has implemented an “Environmental Impact Reduction Plan” covering all of its production processes. The goal is to achieve a comprehensive manufacturing system that minimizes its ecological footprint as much as possible.
As part of this strategy, the company has made a major investment in renewable energy by installing 1,713 solar panels. With a nominal capacity of 933.35 kWp (DC) and 850 kW (AC), generating 1,161,767 kWh annually, the system enables Grupo Morón to achieve 71% electrical self-sufficiency.
The installation is complemented by 20 battery racks with a total nominal storage capacity of 920 kWh. These batteries store energy generated by the photovoltaic system, allowing it to be used whenever needed rather than only when it is produced. This is especially beneficial during nighttime hours or time periods when using self-generated energy is more cost-effective than drawing power from the electrical grid.
Benefits for the Environment
Among the main environmental benefits of this project is the reduction of atmospheric pollution, since solar panels do not consume fossil fuels or any other combustible resources. Instead, they use an inexhaustible source of solar energy, do not harm ecosystems, help keep the air clean and contribute to the fight against global warming.
In addition, the installation generates neither noise pollution nor visual pollution that could affect local residents or wildlife, as the panels have been installed on the flat roofs of the company's industrial buildings.
Over recent years, and as part of the same “Environmental Impact Reduction Plan,” Grupo Morón has developed several ambitious projects aimed at improving production efficiency, optimizing resources and enhancing sustainability. These include a carbon-particle air filtration project and a water treatment project, among others.
Furthermore, a significant portion of its textile fibers has already been replaced with recycled fibers that comply with the strictest European requirements regarding substances harmful to human health and the environment.
