Grupo Morón Donates 5,000 Face Masks to the City Council
The face masks manufactured by Grupo Morón have been certified and will be distributed to vulnerable groups in Arnedo
The Arnedo-based company Grupo Morón has donated a total of 5,000 face masks manufactured at its local production facility to the Arnedo City Council.
These masks are produced using high-quality materials and in compliance with the strictest health regulations endorsed by the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices. In the coming days, they will be distributed among vulnerable groups in the city. As agreed during the latest remote meeting of the Council Spokespersons Board, the City Council will not provide masks to the entire population unless such a measure is recommended by health authorities.
The groups that will benefit from this initial distribution include the Local Police, the Arnedo Civil Guard, Civil Protection volunteers, Home Care Service workers, and volunteers participating in various social assistance programs. Other groups with demonstrated needs, as well as vulnerable elderly individuals and their families, will also be considered.
Grupo Morón has expressed its willingness to complement this donation with future contributions aimed at covering the population's needs. The Mayor thanked the company and indicated that it would be contacted should additional supplies become necessary.
In response to the urgent situation caused by COVID-19, the company has made its machinery and production capacity available to society in order to help address the shortage of healthcare materials. For this reason, it has focused its efforts on the design and manufacture of sanitary face masks.
The Grupo Morón face mask is reusable after being immersed for 30 minutes in a 1:50 bleach-to-water solution. It features latex-free elastic bands for a secure fit and is manufactured using a molded single-shell design that guarantees both ergonomics and protection. The product successfully passed the demanding tests carried out by the AITEX laboratory.
Following these tests, which included breathability, bacterial filtration efficiency, and splash resistance assessments, the masks were certified according to specifications EN 0064-1:2020, EN 0065:2020, and UNE EN 14683:2019+AC:2019. They were also granted a health license by the Spanish Ministry of Health under the supervision of the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices.
When establishing the distribution criteria, it was taken into account that masks do not need to be worn continuously, but only in situations where maintaining the recommended social distancing measures is not possible. This approach allows their use to be optimized and prolonged. Maintaining safe social distancing remains the most effective preventive measure, and local authorities will continue implementing operational and organizational actions within their areas of responsibility to support this objective.
